    How often should HVAC ducts be cleaned?
    How often should Kitchen exhaust be cleaned?

How often should I have my ducts cleaned?
There is no set time frame for duct cleaning, Varying factors determine the accumulation of contaminants within you system. These include:

        1. Usage - hours of use i.e 7 days x 24 hrs.
        2. System maintenance - Filter condition, duct leakages, door/window leakages
        3. Dust sources - Floor covering type, number of people, air movement
        4. System design - adequate ventilation for photocopiers, cutting machines, smoking, fresh air intake location, etc

But as a rule of thumb:

How often should kitchen exhausts be cleaned?
The are many factors to determine the frequency of kitchen exhaust duct cleaning. Some of these are:
      1. Type of cooking proccess. ie steaming or deep frying.
      2. Usage per day.
      3. Type of oil being used.
      4. Grease filter maintenance.
      5. Amount of Air flow.
      6. Ambient temperature.

An inspection of the exhaust hood, filters and behind the filters will give you an indication.

But as a rule of thumb:

How often should evaporator coils be cleaned?
Due to the environment that is created on and around the evaporator coil it is necessary to clean and santise at least every 12 months. This ensures there is no build up of contaminates causing air flow restrictions and there are no bacteria, fungi or mould growth.
